You’re booked with Fox Creek Studios — we can’t wait! Entering a new environment with a camera pointing at your pup can feel a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry! We’ve put together these simple steps to help ensure your pup has a stress-free, fun, and memorable session.
Before anything else, please ensure you’ve filled out your Pre-Photoshoot Questionnaire. You’ll find the link right in your booking confirmation email. It gives us insight into your dog’s quirks, favorite motivators, and triggers so we can hit the ground running with a great first impression!
We use plenty of delicious rewards to build trust and direct focus. To keep your dog motivated, consider cutting back slightly on their meal right before coming in, or skip it until after our session. A slightly hungry dog is eager to work for goodies and stays extra engaged.
Planning a bath or haircut? Schedule it a few days before your session so your pup looks fresh and feels relaxed by shoot day.
While we keep a variety of delicious treats stocked in the studio, please bring your dog’s favorite high-value treats if they have strict allergies or sensitive stomachs. Modeling is hard work, and every dog deserves their favorite payment!
It’s a common myth that you should wear your dog out completely before a shoot. While a quick light potty walk is great, we actually love their natural spark and excitement! A shoot requires focus; if a pup is totally exhausted, they lose interest in games and treats quickly.
We have fun accessories like bandanas, flower crowns, and bubbles on hand, but feel free to pack special items — favorite toys, custom collars, or family keepsakes. Prefer a clean, classic look? Beautiful natural coats are always our personal favorite!
Absolutely! We love capturing the bond between you and your dog. If you’d like to step into a few shots, come prepared—we’re always thrilled to include parents in the memories.
Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early so your dog can sniff around, decompress, and take a quick potty break before heading inside. Dogs easily pick up on human stress, so taking your time sets a calm tone for the entire session!
